Iceberg Lake Hike – Glacier National Park

The trail to Iceberg Lake has to be one of the top hikes in Glacier National Park for sheer awe and beauty. Starting near Swiftcurrent Motor Lodge, the trail climbs 1200 feet in just under 5 miles, ending at an incredibly beautiful and massive glacier-carved cirque. In this particular ranger-led hike on the first of July, Iceberg Lake was still frozen solid so the iconic floating “icebergs” for which the lake is named had not yet formed, although the small lake just below Iceberg Lake was thawing.
