The Ahwahnee Hotel

Known for its magnificent façade, and architecture, the Ahwahnee was designed by renown architect Gilbert Staney Underwood to highlight its natural surroundings. Underwood also designed Grand Canyon Lodge, Bryce Canyon Lodge and Zion Lodge. A National Historic Landmark, the Ahwahnee was completed in 1927 and is a prime example of National Park Service Rustic Architecture. Each year an number of special events are held here, including Chefs’ Holidays, Vintners’ Holidays and Bracebridge Dinner at Christmastime.
